Cooking Cash, like coins, is a way to pay for items in game. There are decorative items for the interior and exterior of the restaurant that are only purchasable with Cooking Cash. Additionally, ingredients are available for purchase for 8 Cooking Cash, even ingredients not on the ingredient market. Playfish frequently holds sales on ingredients, for 2-4 Cooking Cash off each ingredient.

Cooking Cash must be bought with real money; options to pay include:

  • credit card,
  • Facebook Cash (since July 15, 2010, according to Facebook's will to unify all currencies in Facebook applications),
  • Paypal,
  • TrialPay,
  • phone bill,
  • and Playfish Cash Cards available at Walgreens (USA) and at Sainsbury's and WHSmith (UK).

Cooking Cash has been introduced in game on April 19, 2011 to replace Playfish Cash. Unlike its predecessor, Cooking Cash is a game-specific currency only available in Restaurant City. In order to encourage players to convert their Playfish Cash balence to game-specific currencies, Playfish rewarded everyone with a Maggie's Ultimate Stove for doing so on April 19, 2011.
